Summer Internship Housing

Included in the New York City Program is fantastic downtown New York City living. It is in an ideal location, just blocks from historic Union Square, and conveniently located next to the underground subway system. You will be able to explore the city with hundreds of other program participants, making for an easy transition where no one will feel alone in the big city. The building has a 24-hour front desk security guard, checking identification before allowing access into the building.  
           
Housing at New York University
NYU is one of the largest private universities in the United States, consisting of 14 schools and colleges, which occupy six major centers in Manhattan. We are truly fortunate in our housing accommodations at NYU. Our New York housing is arguably the most sought-after summer housing in New York City. We have two high-rise NYU dormitories located within a few blocks of Union Square. They are situated two blocks apart and offer easy subway access. One of the two buildings has an incredible gymnasium in its lower levels to which all program participants will have free access. With your prime location in Union Square, you will experience all that Manhattan has to offer.

New York Session #1 (May 24th - July 18th) will be housed at the Palladium Residence, which is widely regarded by NYU students as the best housing available at NYU. Located on E. 14th Street, Palladium is in a prime location with subway entries just down the block. Rooms are apartment-style with a living area, bathroom and kitchen included. New York Session #2 (May 31 - August 8) will be housed in the world-famous Herald Square area, the New Yorker, which is within walking distance of Times Square, Broadway and Off-Broadway Theatres, Madison Square Garden, Macy’s, and the Empire State Building. Local restaurants, banks, pharmacies and grocery stores abound, and students enjoy convenient access to six subway lines and unbeatable proximity to Penn Railway Station (Amtrak, NJ Transit, Long Island Rail Road) and the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

The New Yorker Residence offers fully furnished double dorm-style rooms with a TV, DVD player, high-speed internet, and refrigerator. With a bathroom in each unit, these fully furnished rooms are a great choice for busy students on the go. The residence features computer labs, lounges, a laundry room and a gym facility.

The New Yorker has the best amenities around, including 24-hour security, live-in student life staff, key-card entrance to rooms, fully furnished rooms, air conditioning, refrigerator in room, cable TV, standard TV/DVD combo, high-speed internet access, unlimited local phone service, laundry facilities in building, communal kitchens, gym facilities, communal lounges, public computers, and an ATM in building.

New York Session #3 (June 7 to August 1) will be housed at the Third Avenue North Residence, which, among NYU students, is widely considered a fantastic housing situation. Third North is located in the East Village, providing students an opportunity to experience the shops, music clubs, restaurants, and residential brownstones for which the neighborhood is adored by New Yorkers. The residence also provides students with convenience to the subway, as well as other conveniences including an exercise room, TV lounge, game room, mini-theater, dance studio, music practice rooms, dining hall, and beautiful outdoor courtyard. After completing the placement process, participants are required to complete a roommate questionnaire to appropriately match like-personalities. Rooms are laid out as doubles, as single rooms are not available.
